OFF WE GO!

AN EVENING RIDE TO GERMANY
We’re seeing the end of the work in the house we’re building, but there still is a lot that needs to be done.
That’s the reason we only started planning and packing our stuff tuesday. One day before we leave.

A little late maybe, but I hope Sanne did a good job. 🙂
She’s the one planning and collecting all the stuff we need for this holiday. That’s necessary because most of the stuff for her and Leon, I wouldn’t even find.
Off course I made sure my photo gear and the essential travel/readingbooks were also on the packing list.

We went to collect the car wednesday around noon. Helmut and his wife gave us the whole tour of the car and hup. Off we went!
Back home Sanne started packing the car and I visited the doctor with Leon. A latest check-up for his ears which he had operated last week.

Everything was ok and when I returned home we were almost ready to start the trip. Say goodbye to the family and off we went! After 10km we had our first traffic jam! 🙂

Plan was to drive straight to Hamburg. That’s halfway to Hirtshals, where we need to get the ferry at 18pm the next day.
After a long and exhausting drive we finally arrived in a small parking lot in the woods around Hamburg where we spend the night.
They say you can drive as fast as you like on German highways. That’s a lie. Germans love working. They also love to screw people. So they “work” the roads for kilometers.
Anyway, we arrived and slept well!

Today we woke up around 8, ate and left. Off to Hirtshals! We’re in Germany so again: traffic jams! 🙂
I hope we arrive in time this evening!
