THE SOUTHERN COAST

THE SOUTHERN COAST

BEACHTIME
Half past seven and time to wake up, or at least that’s what Leon thinks.
We get out of bed and find the devil beasts still there! Off to another place then for our breakfast.

20’ later we arrive at a beautiful beach in Madal where we enjoy our breakfast. First time for Leon to enjoy a beach outside Belgium.

Today we plan on following the Jaeren scenic route which follows the southern coast. It should be “special”.

The first part of the trip, which should bring us to the scenic route is very special. Boulders and mountains of boulders appear out of nowhere. An amazing, unearth like landscape. Here we enjoy our meal and together with Leon, Sanne takes a rest.

in the meanwhile I’m trying to take my first nature photos. I put the drone in the air and to get some point of perspective of how big these rocks are, I need a model. That model will be me, because the better models are sleeping. 😉

The light is a bit harsh, but I’m happy I can take some photos, other than the “familyphotos” I’ve taken this holiday.

We get back in the car and drive to our destination of the day: Ogna. A small village with a beautiful beach.
Every citizen of the village, young or old seems to be required to bath today. They climb the railway fences and hup, they’re off to the beach.

BREAKFAST AT THE BEACH!
ROCKY: THE LANDSCAPE
Since Leon is having a bad day (apparently he is getting “child molars”) We put him in the special baby carrying rucksack and go see what it’s all about. We find a beautiful beach, lots of rocks and cows, sheep and wetland birds.
That’s a plan for tonight.

When we’re done eating, Leon gets into bed and we drink a beer, play a game and wait for the night to come!

When the sun almost sets, the minifies get back and Sanne decides it’s time for her bed.

Me on the other hand take my photo gear and take a walk through the meadows and to the beach. I enjoy taking “real” wildlife pictures of some lapwings defending their nesting grounds and a pair of  redshank.
The cows don’t like me apparently so they run after me. Lucky for me I was just over a little bridge. That’s gonna be cool on the way back tonight. 😉

I reach the beach and in Norway it seems to be perfectly normal to swim in sea at 10pm with your children (age 6-14 maybe?).
Anyway I get up on the rocks, take some pictures of the setting sun and return to the van. A little face off with some cows and I’m in bed! Sleepy time!
