Not more than a year ago I made an agreement with some friends to make another roadtrip. The last one dated back to 2008 when we drove all the way to Fulufjallet National Park in Sweden.
Finally it was the 24th of september. We made a plan to drive to Bodø. The capital of the Nordland province in Norway. Some 3000km of Belgium. I traveled a day later (had to photograph a wedding) than the rest and skipped 1500km of long highway roads. They picked me up in Stockholm.
In three days we drove all the way tot Bodø, where we would hang around for 4 days before heading back south to get home on time.
In trondheim, after 9 days, I left the party. There was a weekend planned some days later for the birthday of my grandfather.
I skip some 1800km driving back home, but I miss a lot of great nights!
The best nights were in Bodø however. The first night there, after a heavy hike, we plant our tents in the middle of nowhere and that night we get to see an amazing spectacle of the Northern Lights! A whole night of the most beautiful green curtains right above our head. And not a living soul around…
The next three days: exactly the same! Our trip couldn’t get any better.
The only thing I regret is not having too much pictures of our trip. A roadtrip with friends is something different than a special photography trip. The atmosphere, the bonfire and maybe the drinks at night didn’t make me grab my camera that much.
The pictures down the page give a short impression of our trip, but not more than that. We love them because we were there 😉
